Daniel Fischer
Daniel Fischer was born in 1950 in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 1967 he visited Paris for the first time and was fascinated by the spirit of the town, by the arts institutions and student activities. Daniel Fischer was born in 1950 in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 1967 he visited Paris for the first time and was fascinated by the spirit of the town, by the arts institutions and student activities. In 1968 - 1974 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. He refused to be a part of Communist Party in 1971. In 1988 he led the workshop at the University of Houston, Clear Lake, USA. In 1990 he became prelector in the Department of Paintings at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava and became a vice-principal of the Academy of Fine Arts for the foreign affairs (1990 - 1993). In 1998 he became a director of Bienale Istroart - International Student Festival, Bratislava. He had lectured at many universities round the USA. In 2000 he was awarded by the Fulbright Grant Award. He was awarded by the Tatra banka Foundation Award for Arts in 2010. See less
