Dan Flavin

Flavin (Jamaica, 1933 Riverhead, N.Y. 1996), studied painting in Korea during his military service 195455 and at the New School of Social Research in New York, presenting his first solo show in New York in 1961. Also in 1961 he started experimenting with light sculptures, extend ing them into roomsize installations by 1968. He has created numerous public light installations across the world.
