Connie Radovanovic, one of seven children, grew up on a cotton and cattle farm in northeastern Louisiana. Her childhood was carefree, slow and simple, yet one where hard work and responsibility were parental expectations. A favorite pastime was roaming the land - woods, pastures, ponds and creeks among the cattle, chickens, pigs and horses. Life was unscheduled for the children after the work was completed. Connie Radovanovic, one of seven children, grew up on a cotton and cattle farm in northeastern Louisiana. Her childhood was carefree, slow and simple, yet one where hard work and responsibility were parental expectations. A favorite pastime was roaming the land - woods, pastures, ponds and creeks among the cattle, chickens, pigs and horses. Life was unscheduled for the children after the work was completed. They were free to play or to walk to a friend's house, at least a mile away. She received a B.A. in history and English from Louisiana Tech and taught high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After several years of teaching, she returned to graduate school at the University of Alabama, where she earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in European history. Before completion of her doctorate, she taught American history and Western civilization. At IUPUI in Columbus, Indiana, she taught Western civilization, American history and Russian history.
