Christopher L. Drake, Ph.D., DABSM, is a clinical psychologist at the Henry Ford Hospital Sleep Disorders and Research Center and assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. He earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2001. He is board-certified in sleep medicine and behavioral sleep medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Drake currently serves on the editorial board of the journals SLEEP and Behavioral Sleep Medicine. He has been a member of the board of directors for the National Sleep Foundation since 2005. In addition to serving on other national and international committees, Drake was section head of Sleep Disorders Research for the Sleep Research Society from 2005 to 2006 and has been an advisor to the World Health Organization on sleep and health. He has authored numerous scientific publications in the field of sleep medicine and serves as an invited reviewer for eighteen scientific journals. He is currently funded by the National Institute of Mental Health to study the predisposition to chronic insomnia.
