Chris Price is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Music and Performing Arts at Canterbury Christ Church University and a Tenor Lay Clerk in the choir of Canterbury Cathedral. His academic interests centre upon the archive bequeathed to the city in 1905 by the Canterbury Catch Club comprising music, other written records, and artefacts. Part of this research has been a process of transcription to bring some of the more deserving pieces of music back into the public domain so that they may once again be enjoyed by audiences and performers. His work with the cathedral choir has included recordings, radio and TV broadcasts, and tours in the UK and abroad, and he is regularly in demand as a soloist; recent performances have explored the repertoire of twentieth-century English humorous song.
