Chris Drake is a Professor of History at Houston Community College in Houston, Texas. A native of Henderson County in east Texas, he graduated from the public schools of Malakoff, Texas. He received his bachelor's degree in history from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a master's degree in history from the University of Houston. Chris Drake is a Professor of History at Houston Community College in Houston, Texas. A native of Henderson County in east Texas, he graduated from the public schools of Malakoff, Texas. He received his bachelor's degree in history from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and a master's degree in history from the University of Houston. Attempting to stir up interest in John Henry Faulk's story, he wrote and performed John Henry!!! a one-man drama. The Harris County Arts Council awarded a grant to take the production on a county-wide tour, and the play won inclusion on the Texas Arts Roster.
