Her research expertise falls in the field of metallurgical physics and chemistry with over 60 years of academic and application exploration experience, including thermodynamics of rare earth materials; physical chemistry and application of rare earth elements in iron and steel, nonferrous metals and their alloys; solid-state ion element sensing and applications; and theory and fabrication of sensors such as rare earth (La, Y), calcium, manganese, chromium, oxygen, sulfur, phosphorus, silicon, fluorine, hydrogen, and SO2.
