Christopher Chandler began reporting at the City News Bureau in Chicago in 1963, and worked for five years at the Sun- Times and three years at WBBM-TV Channel 2. He has won a number of awards including First Place, Spot News in 1968 from the Illinois AP and an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1979. He was Press Secretary during Harold Washington's primary campaign in 1983, and then Deputy Press Secretary during the general election campaign and the early years of the first Washington administration. He was later press secretary for U.S. Congressman Bobby Rush, and media director for the Government Accountability Project. See less
