Dr. Burns has been an educator of nurse practitioners in pediatric primary care for 30 years, lead author for Pediatric Primary Care (2009) which is in its 4th edition and has won several awards over the years; past president National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
