Cardinal Francis Arinze

Cardinal Francis Arinze was born in Nigeria on November 1, 1932. He was ordained a priest in Rome (1958), appointed Archbishop to the See of Onitsha in 1967 and elevated to a Cardinal in 1985. He served as President of the Secretariat for Non-Christians, the precursor to the current Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue until October 1, 2002, when he was a named Prefect of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.
