Cara Ward is a writer from London who suffered from eczema for most her young life. It became severe in her teens and in her twenties, only seemed to be getting worse, until she found the answer that changed her life. She had developed red skin syndrome (RSS), a condition brought on by the use of topical steroids that were prescribed to treat her eczema, and the only way for her to get better was to stop using them completely. She has since made a full recovery and is now an advocate for the relatively unknown condition which affects thousands of people worldwide. From the age of twelve, Cara also suffered from trichotillomania (hair pulling disorder) and dermatillomania (skin picking), but after her recovery from RSS, she decided to do something about it. In October 2016, she started a diary documenting her journey and over the course of seven weeks, learned how to manage her compulsions. She then went on to self-publish the diary under the name My Date with a Razor before it was republished in September 2018 with Trigger titled Every Trich in the Book. See less
