Bridget Penhale is an Emeritus Professor in Health Sciences at UEA. She has an extensive research and practice knowledge and understanding in of safeguarding adults. She has also published extensively on partnership work and safeguarding adults. She has written Blogs on cases heard at the Open Justice Court of Protection. Her research interest s include s elder abuse, including institutional forms of abuse; adult safeguarding (also known as adult protection or adult abuse); intimate partner violence/domestic violence; attachment and intergenerational relationships in later life; mental health of older people; loss, grief and bereavement in later life; adult social care and community care; ethics and social care; health-related social work. With a first degree in psychology Bridget has a p r ofessional qualification in social work and clinical experience in a range of setting s , including health-related organisations . Following extensive experience as a social worker and (fron t-line) manager , the latter part of her career was spent in academic settings, with a specialist focus in gerontology . See less
