About the Author Brad Harris is a ten-year professional software developer and technical writer from Columbia, Missouri, with solid experience in setting up, configuring, and maintaining Internet servers and Web sites. He's been programming since he first got hold of an Apple II in 1980. He earned a BS in Computer Science in 1988 and has since worked with computers in many industries. Brad has authored several books, including the Big Guide to Netscape Navigator and the Official Netscape SuiteSpot 3 Book. As a developer, Brad currently designs Internet, intranet, and extranet solutions for various organizations. He creates Web sites with Visual InterDev, making full use of Internet Information Server 4.0's Active Server Pages technologies to integrate Web sites with Microsoft SQL Server and other major databases. He also implements Web solutions using Java and C++. He built the site for a commerce-enabled Web-hosting vendor, and is currently involved in setting up the remote development infrastructure for Habanero Computing Solutions, Inc. In his spare time, Brad is a musician and songwriter, playing drums in a jazz band and covering the bass and singing in a post-minimalist roll band. He loves the outdoors, spending as much time as possible hiking, camping, and canoeing.
