Boka Hadzija
Boka Wesley Hadzija taught for 41 years at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, School of Pharmacy. She retired as a full professor in 2010. Boka Wesley Hadzija taught for 41 years at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, School of Pharmacy. She retired as a full professor in 2010. An award-winning teacher and mentor, she earned the 2005 C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service award and no less than 33 awards for excellence in teaching. In addition, she is the only professor in the UNC System to have received the Tanner Award (for excellence in undergraduate teaching) on three separate occasions. Her contributions to the University earned her induction into the Order of the Grail-Valkyries, Order of the Golden Fleece, and Order of the Old Well. Dr. Hadzija has been recognized by students and peers as an inspirational mentor, a generous donor in support of students, and as an outstanding leader. She established the "Boka Hadzija Award for Distinguished Service" at UNC in 2000. This award is given annually to the graduate/professional student who best demonstrates exemplary character, scholarship, leadership, and service within the greater university community.
