Bob Partridge was born and bred in rural Norfolk. As a boy, he learned how to live off the land by catching rabbits and fishing, nearly everything landed up in a frying pan over an open fire. He was the only boy in his school to take cookery classes and went on to be a chef. Later his interest took another direction and Bob became a successful art dealer and gallery owner. In retirement, he acquired an allotment where he still puts his energy into growing a huge variety of fruit and vegetables. His love of digging, planting and nurturing (not to forget eating the produce!) inspired him to write his first children's book, Tales of Mossy Bank Allotment. This quickly sold out and, spurred on by its success, Bob decided to try his hand at a fictionalised version of his early memories, My North Star. Toby and the Magic Wheelbarrow is Bob's second children's book and, by popular request, a sequel to his first is in the making. Mossy Bank Allotment Revisited will be on the shelves soon. See less
