Bill Caldwell has always loved hiking and the outdoors so his artistic photography is based in the natural world landscapes, seascapes, and macro/close-ups of flowers, leaves, rocks, and driftwood, as well as abstracts created from his macro images. After earning his BA degree in industrial and scientific photography in 1978, he spent 20 years in the US Air Force as a Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) navigator. Now he's pursuing his lifelong love of landscape and artistic photography along with his enduring interest in spirituality including certification in Integrated Energy Therapy (IET). Although he's a bit of a nomad, he currently lives with his wife and cat in the Southwest and he's amazed at the stunning beauty of the Red Rock Country area as well as the surrounding region. One of the definitions of the word sacred is "worthy of or regarded with reverence, awe, or respect." In this sense, he considers these beautiful natural areas as sacred ground. He feels a strong spiritual connection to the land so his photographic art comes from a place of profound reverence and appreciation for this beautiful planet Earth. His primary intention is always to create beautifully uplifting pictures that capture the spirit of each location, and to communicate his feeling of awe and wonder when he explores and photographs the incredible spacious beauty of the natural world.
