YAIR BEN-DOV is a Senior Research Entomologist at the Department of Entomology, Agricultural Research Organization, The Volcani Center, Bet Dagan, Israel. His research duties at Bet Dagan involve studies on systematics, biology, ecology, and control of scale insects and thrips. His main interests include taxonomy, systematics, and nomenclature of the Coccoidea, with special emphasis on the Mediterranean fauna. Prior to assuming (in 1977) his present position, he worked, from 1972 to 1977, on scale insects at the National Collection of Insects, Pretoria, South Africa, and served as curator of Coccoidea. Yair was bom in Tel Aviv, Israel. He is married and has a son and three daughters. He has a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Entomology from the Faculty of Agriculture, Hebrew University, Jerusalem. See less
