Barry Locke is Associate Professor and Assistant Dean at the West Virginia University School of Social Work where he has taught for 23 years. He holds an MSW degree in Social Group Work from Virginia Commonwelath University and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from West Virginia University. Barry Locke is Associate Professor and Assistant Dean at the West Virginia University School of Social Work where he has taught for 23 years. He holds an MSW degree in Social Group Work from Virginia Commonwelath University and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from West Virginia University. He has served as director of both the BSW and MSW Programs. He teaches in the areas of social policy, rural community practice, and evaluation research. His practice and research interests include contextually grounded generalist practice, rural social work, poverty, and faculty issues in social work education. He is a certified Council on Social Work Education Commission on Accreditation site team chair. He is past president of the National Rural Social Work Caucus, the West Virginia NASW Chapter, and the West Virginia Human Resources Human Resources Association. He was recognized as Social Worker of the Year by the West Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. See less
