Antonio Zavala is a Chicago writer born in Mexico. He was brought to the United States legally at an early age. He grew up in the Little Italy neighborhood and later moved to Little Village and then to Pilsen. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa. Antonio Zavala is a Chicago writer born in Mexico. He was brought to the United States legally at an early age. He grew up in the Little Italy neighborhood and later moved to Little Village and then to Pilsen. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa. He has been a life-long activist since he was in high school. He was active in the Chicano Movement and did Chicano theater with Compa��a Trucha. He is also an Aztec dancer with the group Coyolxauhqui Danza Azteca. He has practiced journalism for over two decades. He is a correspondent with a major news service and a columnist for La Raza weekly. He also contributes to El BeiSMan and Contratiempo magazines. This is his first work of fiction.
