Andrew Schonebaum is associate professor of Chinese literary and cultural studies at the University of Maryland. He is the author of Novel Medicine: Healing, Literature, and Popular Knowledge in Early Modern China (University of Washington Press, 2016); and coeditor, with Tina Lu, of Approaches to Teaching "The Story of the Stone" ( Dream of the Read Chamber ) (MLA, 2013).
