Professor Amy E. Sloan earned her J.D. with highest honors from The George Washington University Law School. She was a member of the George Washington Law Review and Order of the Coif; she also received the Imogen Williford Constitutional Law Award and the Bureau of National Affairs Law Student Prize. After graduating, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable William M. Nickerson and the Honorable Edward S. Northrop at the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Professional History Professor Sloan began her teaching career at the Catholic University of America s Columbus School of Law. She also taught at The George Washington University Law School, where she directed the Legal Research and Writing Program. In 2001, Professor Sloan joined the University of Baltimore law faculty to lead the Legal Skills Program jointly with Professor Eric B. Easton. Professor Sloan is active in the national research and writing community. She served as president of the Association of Legal Writing Directors in 2002-03 and as Chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Legal Writing, Reasoning, and Research in 1999.
