Allyson Kennedy was born and raised in eastern North Carolina, where she was dubbed the "quiet writer kid" throughout school. After receiving the gift of a Mary-Kate and Ashley notebook for Christmas from her aunt at age seven, she realized that God had blessed her with the gift of writing and storytelling. Allyson Kennedy was born and raised in eastern North Carolina, where she was dubbed the "quiet writer kid" throughout school. After receiving the gift of a Mary-Kate and Ashley notebook for Christmas from her aunt at age seven, she realized that God had blessed her with the gift of writing and storytelling. Although Allyson enjoys writing poetry and song lyrics on occasion, she enjoys writing young adult fiction the most. Can't Beat the Heart of a Carolina Girl is her first novel, and she finished the first draft at age sixteen. During her spare time, Allyson is a major fangirl, obsessing over all things Disney, Hunger Games, and Pride and Prejudice, among other TV shows, movies, and books. She will graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems in May 2017 from The University of Mount Olive. See less
