Dr. Allison Smith has three degrees in music, including two post-graduate seminary degrees. Professionally, she has served on church staff in Methodist and Baptist churches and worked in church music publishing, speaking in conferences on ministry and leadership. While none of the above qualifies Allison to author a book on overcoming overeating, her authority on this topic comes from a life-long struggle with the issue, lessons learned through faith, and more than 75 pounds of weight loss. She is motivated by a frustration with the lack of answers offered by a financially driven, weight-loss industry. She is convicted that this problem can only be solved by someone who has walked the road. When her society offered no solution, Allison attributes her recovery to God's answers revealed in the darkness of food addiction. Today she continues to be motivated by a broken heart for those still suffering without hope. See less
