Alberto Moravia

Alberto Moravia (1907-1990) was an Italian journalist, short-story writer, and novelist. His novels explored matters of modern sexuality, social alienation and existentialism. He was a major figure in 20th-century Italian literature. Moravia was a perennial contender to the Nobel Prize in Literature, having been nominated 13 times between 1949 and 1965.
