Adrian Lyons SJ studied theology at the United Faculty of Theology in Melbourne. He was ordained priest in 1974, and spent a number of years as a university chaplain, then as personal assistant to two Jesuit provincials. Three months' internship at America magazine in New York, and a year's editing experience at publisher Collins Dove led towards the foundation of Eureka Street magazine. From 1997-99 he coordinated two years of research into belief and unbelief. This was followed by a two-year appointment with the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia as a member of faith development team. From 1991, he has been involved with the Jesuit Refugee Service, and spent six years as rector at Canisius College in Sydney. In 2000, a visiting fellowship at the Woodstock Theological Centre, Washington DD, facilitated further research toward Imagine Believing. He then was consultant for university chaplaincy in the archdiocese of Sydney. Most recently, he has transferred to St Ignatius College, as a member of the team promoting Catholic Christian faith and Ignatian spirituality among students, members of staff and parents. See less
