Adrian Farmer
Local author Adrian Farmer has had close links with Belper ever since he was appointed editor to the Belper News in 1990. After leaving the paper in 2004, he became Co-ordinator of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, which runs for 15 miles along the River Derwent from Masson Mills at Matlock Bath in the North to Derby's Silk Mill in the South. After leaving the paper in 2004, he became Co-ordinator of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, which runs for 15 miles along the River Derwent from Masson Mills at Matlock Bath in the North to Derby's Silk Mill in the South. Belper lies at its centre, and the town's mills play a significant part in its story. Adrian is involved with a number of local organisations dedicated to enhancing the town, and regularly gives talks on its history to help fund the World Heritage Site.
