I've been using the companion volume, You Are The Judge-Two, in adult-education classes for years. Students read about a court case and pretend to be the judge. Most of the cases are civil, so the judge reaches a reasoned verdict, guided by fill-in-the-blank and comprehension exercises. I've also had my students role-play the cases.
