sweet depiction of the parenting journey
cute illustrations with catchy rhymes! the whole story tells of what a parent means to the child, and what a child means to her or his parents, but in all, you know we absolutely love and adore each other!
my favorite lines in the book: "i am your dinner, you are my chocolate cake; i am your bedtime, you are my wide awake" doesn't that remind you of growing up times when you can't have dessert until you've finished your dinner, or times when you want to stay up a little longer, but your parents insist you go to bed?
i gave this book to my parents on their silver anniversary--another line in the book says, "i am your way home, you are my new path"--and we've definitely gone through times where i've needed their guidance, and they've needed my original points of view...i also gave this book to a two-year-old i babysit, and he also enjoys this book and loves watching the little teddy bear go through a busy day with his daddy!
