To understand foreign policy without having read and studied Henry Kissinger would be like celebrating Christmas without historical understanding of Jesus Christ. He is the Talleyrand of the 20th century. He was by far the most effective Secretary of State in my lifetime who settled many turbulent conflicts while he served in office under a President who was mired in controversy.
