Volume II: Critical and Political. Volume III: Glimpses of Spain, or, Notes of an Unfinished Tour in 1847. Volume IV: Spain; Her Institutions, Politics and Public Men. Wallis was a prominent lawyer from Baltimore, Maryland. He studied under William Wirt. In 1844, he became one of the founders of the Maryland Historical Society. Wallis visited Spain in 1847 and 1849. In 1861, he became a delegate to the Maryland House of Delegates. In volume II are his reports as Chairman of the Committee on Federal Relations that were critical of the Federal government.
