As an officer of U. S. Marines, I surely had the history of the service's WWII battles emotionally and effectively injected into my very soul during my initial training in the Corps. But I always wanted to know more about the history of all naval campaigns in this turbulent period.
This page-turning book provides any interested reader with interesting information of all significant navies in all theaters for the entire duration of WWII. I especially appreciate the author's helpful instruction about the internal political and leadership foibles of Germany, Italy and Japan before each belligerent launched their initial sorties.
This is a memorable work that I have purchased, added to our library and will refer to again and again. Bravo Zulu, Professor Symonds!
Being date-obsessed, my only request is that the next edition insert the appropriate year date of each described action in some manner on each page. This would save flipping back to be reminded of what year any particular action took place.
