Mary Mae Miller, married at 15, mother of 9, grandmother of 53, and great-grandmother of 45, has an abundance of wisdom and comfort to bequeath. She wrote stories and poems much of her life, which spanned the 20th Century and included stints in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Missouri, California, Washington-to name a few-before she found her home in rural Idaho. Of French, Cherokee, Pennsylvania Dutch, and Osage descent, Miller recorded her thoughts, prayers, and experiences in notebooks and on random sheets of paper until her passing in August 1986 at Cascade Nursing Home in Caldwell, ID. It has been a dream of her daughter Opal Ward and her siblings to one day gather together these writings to share with her large audience of family and friends. In 2019, through tears, laughter, and a bit of hard work, the journey, which depicts Mary's extraordinary devotion to her family, God, and community, has now reached its clear destination-this wonderful collection of heartfelt stories and poems, With Comfort Ever Ready.
