Whipped to a frenzy by the French, the Iroquois were cutting a swath of desolation from New York to Virginia. Terrified settlers banded together, no match for the Indians' cunning. Cabins were burned, entire families massacred, victims scalped, captives tortured. Yet, in the end, the Iroquois would pay the highest price. This period in our history is so little understood. These books by Alan Eckert do a wonderfull job at bringing this period to life. No one can know who said what to whom but it keeps the flow moving. I read wilderness war in four days, it was like eating potato chips I couldent stop.
I ended up buying the hole series and am loving every minute of it. I highly recomened these books to anyone who loves to read and history at the same time.
Thank you. Jim.
