The Top of the Mountain
One moment you're on top, the next on the bottom. Gil Yeager knew both. He had been free happy go lucky one second and behind bars the next because of a corrupt sheriff. Now, he was back and seeking what ever he could--justice or revenge--which ever came first. Of course, there is a girl involved in all of this, a girl who was now believing the lies told about Gil, and he had to set that straight; and perhaps that was what hurt him the worst. The rest he could handle with fists or guns. When L P Holmes writes a western you know pretty much what you are going to get--a great story told simply and with style that makes the reading pleasurable and enjoyable. No foul language, no illicit scenes, enough gun smoke and fist fights to keep the action going. I can't say enough good things about his westerns. Also published under the Matt Stuart name.
