The whole world is groaning under the pain inflicted by atrocities such as diseases, poverty, misery, wars, murders, famines, climatic catastrophes, moral decay, and the list goes on. All these have always taken place in the past, but the intensity and frequency with which these are unfolding, we find no parallel. What are the causes behind these problems and is there any hope and a way out for man? Though man has made astronomical advances in science and technology, does he have answers and solutions to these problems? What does the future hold for mankind? Is this world coming to an end? For centuries, man has been grappling and seeking answers to these questions. This book deals with these questions. The name Jesus has been the subject of much controversy. In His time, He was the subject of constant scrutiny and under the watchful eyes of the religious and government leaders, who tried very hard and failed miserably to find any opportunity where they could find fault in Him, His teachings and actions, and prove Him wrong in any way whatsoever. In our time, He is venerated, revered, and worshipped by some, while others swear and use His name in vain. Some consider Him a prophet, a teacher, a guru, one of the gods, etc., whereas others consider Him the Son of God, Messiah, King, and more. He has impacted the world in a positive way. Who Is This Jesus Christ? reveals why Jesus Christ came to this Earth and for what purpose and what He had to say about all of these events!

ââ?¬Å"Who is this Jesus Christ?ââ?¬Â? by John S. Benjamin is a brief description of all the things Jesus is. He came to earth as a man and was given many names: son of God, savior, prophet, judge, and, ultimately, Lord. This short book provides scripture and brief explanations that further enhance Godââ?¬â?¢s word and introduce the reader to all the components that make up who Jesus is, both as Lord and Savior. This book is meant to help those unfamiliar with Jesus get to know and understand Him better and maybe even give their lives to Christ by the end.
If youââ?¬â?¢ve been away from Jesus for a long time, this little book would be an excellent way to reintroduce Him to you. Every chapter pulls out relevant scriptures regarding the topic at hand. This book is clearly arranged by topic and easy to read through. I particularly liked how the author arranged the scriptures based on one topic, such as ââ?¬Å"Jesus the Prophet,ââ?¬Â? and provided all the scriptures that entail Jesus prophesying.
This book is also aimed at those who are unsaved. The first several chapters consist mostly of scriptures with a little added context and explanation. Speaking as a former atheist, it might have been more impressive for the book to include more details or sources that were mentioned, such as the over 300 prophecies Jesus fulfilled and how he fulfilled them. The author did eventually dive into Isaiah 53, and that was when the book seemed to make a stronger case for me. Im not sure this book alone would be enough to truly get hardened atheists to give their lives to Christ, but it does pose some interesting food for thought that might get some curious enough to explore more of these topics on their own. As that appears to be the authors main goal with this shorter book, he has undoubtedly succeeded in his endeavor to provide a cliff notes version of who Jesus is.
The ââ?¬Å"conclusionsââ?¬Â? chapter was the strongest and most interesting one for me because the author provided clear bullet points as to what benefits Jesus bought for believers with His sacrifice. If youââ?¬â?¢ve been a Christian for a while and have studied the Bible, this book would be helpful to anyone youââ?¬â?¢re trying to introduce to Jesus in person, because you can help answer any questions or concerns not directly addressed or point them to other books that might expose them to their particular curiosities.
This little book does a great job making it clear as to what components make up the complete person known as Jesus and provides scriptural evidence to back up the claims. For me personally, I wish there was more material throughout the book that was written more like the conclusion, but overall, this book will help point readers in the direction theyre searching for. The author did a decent job of remaining more neutral and not being overly emotional and sticking to the facts, which I feel those not very spiritually inclined right now will appreciate. Overall, this book is succinct and accessible, which are the two most important things as far as the structure of this particular book is concerned. Those who want more meatier subject matter would be advised to consider this work more of an appetizer.
