Terrific performances are expected and delivered from all of the big names involved, but nice surprises come from relative newcomers Open Road and Alecia Nugent, and a couple of spectacular turns from legendary (but sadly underappreciated) acts Jim & Jesse McReynolds and the Johnson Mountain Boys. Other highlights include the Whitstein Brothers' note-perfect Louvin Brothers cover "Make Him a Soldier," Blue Highway's chillingly ethereal "The Seventh Angel" (featuring Alison Krauss on harmony vocals), and Jeff White and Vince Gill's joyous "All Prayed Up."
