Based on a large scale, intensive study in inner-city Dublin, this book gives us children's frank and insightful perspectives on multi-ethnic Ireland. Children can be positive and empathic when encountering children from other ethnic communities. However serious tensions can also be detected in the social fabric of multi-cultural schools. There is a marked tendency to stay within one's own cultural group. Hidden from the notice of adults, serious racial bullying can also occur among even very young children.
