Read this book...it's a trip through Mexico in 1952 that is full of hardship and endurance. These two took a trip impossible to do nowadays. Walking with donkeys from near Patzcuaro to the Pacific and back up a different way. They were scarcely prepared and relied on the kindness of strangers to house them and sell them food.
A great read.
