Author Gilbert Morris has come out with a "Christian" version of "The cat who..." series by Lilian Jackson Braun, with the added twist that we get translations of the conversations between cats Jacques and Cleo, which are mostly enjoyable and serve to move the plot forward. I like the two humans, Kate and Jake, very much, they are each given a full background so we understand why they are sharing a house with a lot of animals while unmarried and Jake not liking pets. But with the setting detailed for us, the story is enjoyable, though light. I liked it well enough that I got the next two in the series.

Entertaining Read!
I chose this book simply because I alway enjoy Gilbert Morris books, and I was a little uncertain about reading a book about "cat detective's" . I was pleasently surprised. The book hooked me instantly by taking me into Mary Katherine's rather weary ordinary life, before it is turned upside down by a shared inheritace with a "cat hater" who is a little on the rough side. The book is written from the "persons" point of view, with little inserts from the cats point of view. No fear, the cat's don't talk in human words, but you get to know them. I loved how much the male cat is the same personality as the male main character, who is a cat hater on the outside. It has an interesting twist that threw me off! I can always figure out the who did it part of books, but this one had me stumped. If you love christian fiction, cats, animals, and a real life characters you should read this book!
