Protestants believed Latter-day Saint doctrines, especially polygamy, challenged those values. Ironically, those efforts that led to the college's founding and long influenced its operation also threatened its early survival in Utah. This comprehensive history examines Westminster College in the context of Mormon/non-Mormon relations as well as the founding of Protestant churches, missions, and schools in Utah and the West.
