I bought a copy of this book to use as a resource for designing lessons for my adult watercolor class. My students are beginners with little or no experience in the watercolor medium, and its unpredictible and spontaneous charactoristics seemed at first very intimidating to them.
I'm so glad I discovered this book!
First, it takes you through the basics: the types of watercolor paint available, how to choose and hold a brush, basic color theory, and composition. Then, it has individual lessons that allow the artist to expore each new technique; and finally a "projects" section that encourages the artist to improve and refine his or her skills. I decided that that each of my students needs a copy of this book, so I ordered one for everyone--plus a few extra copies. We refer to it as our "workbook," and every week someone comments on how much they love it!
Highly recommended, especially for the beginner. In addition, I think many of the techniques would be useful to the more experienced watercolorist as well.
