Of 4 books purchased, sadly, this is least helpful by far. Possibly meant for someone with absolutely no knowledge of art, author provides only the most rudimentary observations, i.e., explaining still life shadows providing minimal help with painting them.
Subjectively, apparently a professional, except for one, the examples of her work are crude and unappealing.
Pricey too; my recommendation: Save your money and buy a used ".....Dummies" instead.
