The book is bound to create controversy. The subject matter is well researched and well presented. The only thing lacking, to my mind, was a well laid out viable option. Perhaps there is none now, perhaps it's too late. The decline and fall of the American empire started, albeit slowly, with Viet Nam. It has accelerated with the financial meltdown of 2008-2009. There is no moral fibre left in American government, and America, I fear, is hurtling into the abyss all empires land up in.
