outstanding
Excellent first person account of JEB Stuart and engineering during the War for Southern Liberation. History books are ok, but reading books by people that were actually there are much better. Very well written. With "Make Me a Map of the Valley" it is as good as you can find.

very informitive
This memoir is a very good history of Jeb Stuart's cavalry told by one of his staff members. I would recommend reading it as it is both informative and easily read. Told in the first person, it gives a lively account of their exploits while attached to Lee's Army of Northern Virginia.
