The songs paint dreamy landscapes of happy times and unforgettable memories, either helping the listener transcend beyond the stress and chaos of everyday life, or simply help them recall childhood days growing up in the hometown, or summer days gone by. Distant Fields is a lush tune filled with chiming, ringing piano chords with a featured overlaid uplifting melody. Surely the approach of Gary Lamb was to create music to remind us to be grateful and appreciative of the life we have, either wishing to forget or keep our past, with the promise of a hopeful future. The Night Flight is a remarkable piece of harmonics, minor settings and modal craftiness, at times haunting in mood, with the sneakiness of triumph etched in between the minor passages.
