Okay, before I get clobbered for what might appear to some as being miss-leading, I have not been able to get the newest version of the ReportViewer to even install correctly. The install package claims the ReportViewer 15xx package includes the WinForm control and it doesn't. I have tried to install the newer version of the ReportViewer now four times and even on a fresh install and nothing else installed the package doesn't install. But there are plenty of 3rd party controls Microsoft is pushing.Makes you wonder if that wasn't the reason why it is broken in the first place. The control I'm using is the version that came with Visual Studio 2010 - which you can download for free and use the control that comes with it.I can't fix something that is broken by someone else. I can only work with something that is installed, I can see, look for the issue and see if I can resolve it. And that I was able to do.That is what this book covers to get it to work correctly. That is what I fixed and that is what I show you how I fixed it to get it to work in Visual Studio 2019.It also includes in depth details on how you can create a wide variety of bound and dynamic reports from Event Logs, File Searches, Registry and Windows Management Instrumentation.
