As a person who has seen how domestic violence affects people for generations I found this book fascinating. In my family the domestic violence that my father grew up with was never discussed. It still is not even talked about or even known about by most in my family. Yet Mills writes about domestic violence from a refreshing perspective. For too long men have been the scape goats in this issue. Yes I know that many times men are at fault. In the generations before the 1960's this was true. But Mills talks about how domestic violence affects everybody around it. She also discusses incidents where women were the more violent partners. In other incidents she talks about how women were equal partners in domestic violence with their own actions. It was refreshing to see a feminist who sees this problem as not just the "traditional male bashing" that many feminists take. I would highly recommend her book as a new way to approach domestic violence. It's obvious the old methods are not working. Thank you Linda for having the courage to write this book!
