Victoria climbed the ladder of success by way of being a fashion editor at Woman's Day magazine in New York City, serving as the Director of Travel and Tourism for New Jersey under Governor Thom Kean, running her own successful advertising and public relations firm in Newark and Bernardsville, New Jersey and founding an ESL business in Poland the land of her heritage. Early in her career, she took to pen with Triumph in Exile. a book celebrating a woman who had a strong voice and made a difference, a topic that would stay with Victoria. After fifty-eight years in a happy, loving marriage, author Victoria D. Schmidt lost her husband Ralph to Parkinson's disease. She was inspired by the loss to write Move On! Reinvent Yourself! Find Contentment! I Did! and Remembering The Loved One You Lost. Victoria again honors her husband in her dedication to him for her current book, Victoria's 95 Secrets. The author has been recognized for her accomplishments throughout her career with countless awards. Most recently, just after her 95th birthday, she was one of four recipients of the 2016, 35th Annual Women of Achievement Award sponsored by the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs.
