In this context, formis redefined not as the shape of a material object alone, but asthe multitude of effects, a milieu of conditions, modulations andmicroclimates that emanate from an object's exchange with itsspecific environment, a dynamic relationship that is perceived andinteracted with by a subject. A synergetic employment ofperformance and morpho-ecological techniques combine to createintegral design solutions that will render an alternative model forsustainability. This issue presents historical precursors andprecedents for this approach, as well as the current state of theart of morpho-ecological design.
