The Viennese culture in the interwar period is deemed to be untouched by this, although from 1910 works attributed to Expressionism were created here. In the shadow of the 1920s, which were hard years but also a period of departure, a remarkable spectrum of constructivist experiments developed in Vienna at the interfaces between drama, architecture, literature, dance and music, generated a response from far beyond the Austrian borders. These and other constellations are reconstructed by this volume, which at the same time offers a new approach to the profile of the interwar epoch.
